Nick Brossoit was here visiting the school and LC. He presented us with a School Board Certificate of Appreciation for the work our LC does. He handed out two informational flyers on what is going on in the district as a whole. He also gave updates on the upcoming school levy and state budgets.

The district anticipates having to cut its budget somewhere between 5 and 6 million dollars for the upcoming school year given the states budget. This could be more if the upcoming levy does not pass. 20% of our district funds come from levies. The current levy is not adding more money to the district. It is just to maintain what we are currently doing.
There will be a newsletter going out to residents in the district explaining how the various funds can be spent. Nick also noted that people are welcome and encouraged to contact him with any questions or concerns they have.

Danny pointed out that the building a new Scriber Lake High School is still on the agenda and Nick explained where we are at in this process. This will start when we have a long-term lease for the bus barn site. Currently, it’s a great time to buy but not to sell or lease a piece of property. As the economy recovers the district will continue to work toward leasing the site for the best price possible.

Questions: Can we get a playground? There is a matching funds system set up to do help schools do this.

Tammy apologized for not getting the minutes done and out to everyone. She will get them out as soon as possible.

LC Appointments:

Cheryl will be here for at least two more meetings before she takes a leave of absence. LC came up with a list of potential appointee’s and Danny has begun talking to them. Jan has resigned from LC so we will need to appoint someone to fill her position for the remainder of the year.

PPP conference –

We still need to find a keynote speaker. Janet Spesock is working on this. Danny is also putting feelers out.

Student panel: We made up a list of kids that have graduated from EHRC and could possibly come and be on a panel to answer questions.
